Projects
A selection of projects
We have undertaken many projects for both small
and large companies.
Our general design skills are complemented by
specific PIC processor design, and interfacing to
GSM signalling.
We also have specific wireless design capability.

How customAssembly helped a Laser Marking
Machine Company
When Electrox introduced its new generation Cobra laser
marking system, several items were carried over from the
previous product line, particularly the control pendant.
This was beginning to look its age so the company decided
to update it, originally anticipating doing the design and
manufacture in house.
However, at that stage the design team were attracted by the
idea of using a membrane keypad on the control pendant
and contacted customAssembly.
John Blenkinsopp, commented: “We had already sourced a
suitable enclosure so CDT designed a keypad to fit this,
machining the box to provide a finished product,”.
At this stage customAssembly also became involved in producing the electronics to fit inside the
enclosure.
Finally, customAssembly tied up the remaining aesthetic matters such as mounting a liquid crystal
display (LCD), machining and mounting a plastic window in the enclosure and mounting the finished
assembly to deliver a fully tested and working control pendant. CLOSE X
Grime Reaper Products Limited brings to
market a new design in commercial cleaning
equipment with the design input from
customAssembly
Already established as a supplier of commercial kitchen
cleaning systems, Grime Reaper Products saw a distinct
advantage over its current system and its competitors when
they decided to develop a new cleaning system dedicated to
removing carbonised food deposits from steak griddles and
kitchen utensils.
They saw real benefits in a system that could be semi-
automated, thus making the ownership of a system an easy
choice to make. With higher cleanliness, more efficient use
of staff and low running cost, the system is a success.
With lots of ideas at the outset, customAssembly were involved in developing the initial design brief
to satisfy end customer needs.
The designers worked closely with Grime Reaper Products to make cost effective choices in
technology.
The end product is a system with control and interaction that ensures the system is always working
in its optimum state.
Based on microprocessor technology, it displays information on hours used, detergent mixing and
empty cycles, requiring only minimum maintenance by staff.
With technical support and document writing, customDesignTechnologies have helped Grime
Reaper Products achieve UL approval with sales now in the UK, North America and Europe.

How customAssembly helped an open top bus touring
company improve sound quality, reliability and reduce costs whilst
adding functionality too!
A South west open top bus touring company, were anxious to find a replacement for their existing on
board multi language tour guide system.
They had already been working with an electronic designer and had a working prototype together
with schematic diagram.
customAssembly were able to take the existing prototype schematic and turn it into a finished
product.
This process involved;
·Working with the designer on component selection to enable successful manufacture
·Specifying components to suit the environment
·Design of the printed circuit board
·Design of the enclosure for minimum installation time
·Designing the membrane keypad for maximum user friendliness
The company were able to run tests on the first prototypes to ensure successful functionality within
the bus system giving them the confidence to order production quantities.
customAssembly now supply fully tested receiver units comprising enclosure, printed circuit board
and keypad. Our client now sells the system to touring companies all over the UK. CLOSE X
